2026 COLLECTION SCHEDULE FOR THE TOWN OF LAKE PLEASANT

Residential garbage pick-up: Monday ONLY
SUMMER PICKUP

Starts June 1, 2026 — ends September 28, 2026

Town clean-up Days:
3rd Wednesdays June, August, October
Nothing over 4 feet long will be picked up!

RECOMMENDATIONS
CONSULT with the attendant at the transfer station before dropping off materials.
DO NOT place household garbage or recyclables curbside until the morning of pick-up, before 7:00 a.m., our schedule and route may change without notice!!
USE a suitable container with lid for household garbage,
With a clear plastic bag – Independent bags only please tie bags
A container is to weigh no more than 40 pounds, including container weight.

RECYCLING AND GARBAGE REGULATION
*****USE CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS FOR GARBAGE & RECYCLABLES – NO BLACK
BAGS OR PAPER BAGS – PLEASE TIE BAGS
GLASS: Rinse your GLASS food and beverage containers. You do not have to
remove labels. Do not include glass items with metal, such as light bulbs or non-glass material.
PLASTIC: Rinse and flatten if you wish. You do not have to remove labels. Do not include Styrofoam
containers, oil containers, plastic bags, six-pack holders, medicine bottles.
Containers with #1 – #7 on the bottom are recyclable in Hamilton County transfer station.
METAL: Rinse out your METAL food and beverage containers. You do not have to remove labels &
Flatten them. Do not include other metal materials such as bottle caps, oil, paint, pesticide or aerosol
cans, or hangers. SEPARATE GLASS FROM PLASTIC & METAL.
PAPER: Slide your NEWSPAPER and inserts into a paper bag. Keep clean and dry. DO NOT PUT
OUT IN THE RAIN. Intersperse magazines, junk mail, glossy print, etc. Magazines and books can be recycled.
CARDBOARD: Flatten your CORRUGATED CARDBOARD and tie it up. Keep it clean and dry. Do not include other types of cardboard such as pizza boxes, cereal boxes, milk and egg cartons, etc. DO NOT PUT OUT IN RAIN!
ELECTRONIC WASTE: Take to transfer station, such as computers (with cables/cords) televisions, monitors, small scale servers, keyboards, mice, fax machines, scanners, printers, vcr’s, dvr’s, portable digital music players, dvd’s, digital converter boxes, cable and satellite receivers, electronic or video games consoles.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES: nichel-cadmium sealed lead, lithium ion, nickel metal hydride, or any dry cell batteries capable of being charged may be returned to the place of purchase or taken to the county transfer station .DO NOT PUT IN GARBAGE. THERE CAN BE A $50 – $200 FINE

HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE must be in clear bags – to make it possible to inspect for materials that should be recycled. NON-RECYCLABLES: To be discarded with household garbage.
“IF IT’S NOT RECYCLABLE, IT’S GARBAGE”
The transfer station has areas for Construction Material (C&D). This will not get picked up.
GREEN WASTE: Grass clippings and leaves may be dropped separately at the compost area in back of the Town Municipal Center…..NO BAGS PLEASE.
BRUSH:
Take all brush 3in. round or less to the brush pit behind the tennis courts on Elm Lake Road,
MAJOR APPLIANCES, LARGE HOUSEHOLD FURNISHINGS, TIRES & SCRAP METAL: Can be brought to designated area at the transfer station or be picked-up curbside on certain designated “CLEAN-UP DAYS”. Dismantle appliances, so it will not be a public hazard. Sort wood and metal. Nothing over 4’ long will be picked up. All rims off tires.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE: Batteries (including automobile), EMPTY- oil-based paint cans, pesticides, petroleum products, etc., shall be placed in a separate suitable container, and can be picked up on “CLEAN-UP DAYS” or brought to a designated area at the transfer station.
